I began dancing at the age of 4 with the Jacqui Capper School of Dance in Crewe and from my first lesson I was hooked! Since then, I have performed in many dance festivals and competitions around the country as well as numerous performances at the beautiful Lyceum Theatre in Crewe. Whist in my teenage years I also took lessons at the Hammond School in Cheshire in Classical Ballet.
Until 2018 I combined teaching at local dance schools, in schools and with Cheshire Dance with a full-time job as Deputy Head of Marketing at a local college. Since making the decision to pursue dance full time and combine my love of working with young people, I took on further teaching at X Academy School of Performing Arts and launched AJT Events.
I completed my teacher training with Kate Simmons School in Warrington for FDI (Foundation in Dance Instruction) Tap Dance, The Carmichael School of Theatre Arts in Telford for CDE (Certificate in Dance Education) Tap Dance and FDI and CDE Modern Theatre before completing my DDE (Diploma in Dance Education) in Classical Ballet at North Liverpool Dance Academy.
Now I am privileged to be offering my own classes in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap Dance and Musical Theatre at Shavington-Cum-Gresty Village Hall for young people and adults. I also have a love of singing and aim to incorporate song into lots of lessons particularly with pre-school children.
Classes will cover the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) syllabus work as well as free work. Dancers would have the opportunity to take ISTD examinations if they chose and take part in regular performances.
